Born of Dirt & Dust: Kirkus Book Review Released Today!
Happy to share that my book, Born of Dirt & Dust, earned a strong review posted today at Kirkus---a well-known American book review magazine, according to Google, that provides professional, critical assessments of books for publishers, libraries, booksellers, and general readers, known for its honest, often tough, and comprehensive reviews published before a book's release date. It's a major voice in book discovery.
Yay for Born of Dirt & Dust!
Although my book published before the Kirkus Review was posted, it's great to generate more awareness for my stories. Especially from an exceptional group of professionals in the industry.
Authorship can be very competitive, yet I don't think of publishing as a competition but more of spiritual growth.
My vision as a writer is to use storytelling to drive character empathy and visibility inside unfavorable worlds. Always, always I write from my heart and soul. I write fiction that feels prickly and real. That lives in one's heart long after the last page. That compels a greater appreciation for human struggles, choices that must be made, and the power of resilience.
Every review of my work is impactful to me, as it's my way of learning, growing, and widening my reach. I especially appreciate hearing from readers, and encourage anyone who has read my stories to reach out. I'm always happy to make new friends---I say it with a twinkle in my heart.
One final comment about the Kirkus Review of my book ... upon reading the full review, the content felt more like a description of my book and its stories rather than an actual review. Read the full review here and let me know your thoughts.
Thanks, and remember: always be kind to yourself.
