Crazy About Books & Authors

Hello Friends!
I’m delighted to share a few fun facts about me that contribute to my writing process.
First off, I’m crazy about books and their authors. All kinds of books. All kinds of authors. And, in keeping up with books and authors, I’m obsessed with every library and book festival that exists in all of space and time.
Unfortunately, I still can’t time travel or blast through space, but I can and do meet authors and collect signed books as often as possible, no matter the book’s genre. For me, every book is a treasure, a template for my own goals of improving my writing skills. To say hello and meet a book’s author is a double dose of inspiration. A way for me to re-invigorate my passion for writing. For journaling, too. Perhaps even doodling a string of playful words that spin, twirl, and ballet in my mind. Or, crunching together words that bite, snap, and crack … depending on my mood. Depending on the story emerging as I type-type-type.
In my home, stacks beside stacks beside shelves and piles of books grow tall and wide around me. I can’t let them go. I don’t want to let them go.
To me, every book is a teacher, a mentor, a companion, a door to worlds beyond worlds that open my heart, soul, and mind. That feed into my need to put pen to paper and unleash the hounds of creativity.
I read and I write and I read throughout the days and nights, because books and their authors have a special way of revealing truths about our humanity, our potential, our weaknesses, our vulnerabilities, yet our courage and resilience to survive. These are the reasons why I won’t let go. Why I have to keep going. It’s my writing journey, and there is no end.
Take care, friends, and never stop being you.
